"I love science and it pains me to think that so many are terrified of the subject or feel that choosing science means you cannot also choose compassion, or the arts, or be awe by nature. Science is not meant to cure us of mystery, but to reinvent and revigorate it." by Robert M. Sapolsky

I don't think most tasers meant for people would be strong enough for bears. I sure would not wanna try it!

Can the public even own a Taser? I should think they shouldn't.

My ex-wife had one. They are good for self-defense. They are several types. The hand held type in which terminates in two electrodes. You must touch someone with it to disable them. They are also batons and the classic taser which shoots darts with wires that attach to a hand held unit.

Not all forms of taser are public legal. And they do vary in voltage from model to model.

For those ranchers they have cattle prods!

Anybody that has lived and told the story of a grizzly charge will tell you that by the time you are within tasering distance, you might as well turn it on your self!
