ENTS,
Have any of you ever read the story of the beautiful maiden who became a tree to escape the god Apollo? It is beautiful but quite sad.
Check out these links for the whole story.

Re: Apollo and Daphne
James,
I had not thought of the story in many years. I used to read extensively in Greek Mythology. The late Michael Perlman did much research into the connections of people, gods, and trees in his 'The Power of Trees'.

Bob,
Before 2003 I read a lot on Celtic history & Mythology. It is something I have a desire to pick back up. I am getting rusty and have forgotten some of it. My knowledge on Greek and Roman mythology is limited. The Jews also have some fascinating tales. I eventually may get around to posting some to the list. I would like to read Dr. Perlman's book.
