Plains Cottonwood

I came across this photo at some point last year. I'm almost positive it's Montana's largest plains cottonwood. The link to Montana's champion trees isn't working but if I remeber correctly the circumference was 34' 2".

Jim,

That is one freaking big cottonwood and in Montana, no less. I am always surprised at giant trees in the Rocky mountain West, which often seems too dry and/or cold to produce really huge specimens.
