Brighton State Recreation Area, Michigan

Post by DougBidlack » Sat Jan 05, 2019 12:23 pm

NTS,

back in November of 2016 I measured a couple of trees at this state park in Livingston county. A father and son that my mom knew wanted me to measure a big tree that they found in the park. Unfortunately I don't recall their names but I'm hoping I wrote it down somewhere. In any case the tree that they found was a cottonwood and it measured 16.51' x 109.5'. Before we left I decided to measure a decent black walnut along the side of the road. It measured 10.99' x 94.5'. Brighton State Recreation Area is 4,947 acres in size and it appears to be very similar to Kensington Metropark so it's one more area I'll need to start exploring.
