Larry,

You should visit the Georgia and National Champion Live Oak at Waycross, Ware County. It seems to be huge, cbh 35 ft, height 77 ft and average crown spread 155 ft, with 536 American Forest points. See http://www.gfc.state.ga.us/ForestManage ... onTree.cfm
and
http://www.gfc.state.ga.us/ChampionTree ... fm?ID=1426

On other photos it seems to have several trunks, but still worthwhile to see and probably one of the largest of all Live Oaks.

Jeroen, Will Fell an ENTS member from Georgia and I had talked in the past about me measuring that tree. I've known about it for the past few years, I just haven't measured it yet. Perhaps its time for a road trip to Waycross to confirm those measurements. So many Live Oaks So little time! Larry
