Muffin the Magnificent

Post by dbhguru » Wed Sep 11, 2019 5:34 pm

Hi Ents,

Today Jared Lockwood, Ray Asselin, DCR director of Forest Stewardship Peter Church, and I headed up Dunbar Brook. Beyond the politics, an objective was to re-measure Jared Lockwood's tree named Muffin the Magnificent. Muffin's stats are CBH = 11.28 feet. Height = 136.33 ft. Here is a look at the magnificent One.

This section of the nature trail is awash in gorgeous pines. The more impressive ones range in circumference from 8.5 to 14.5 feet and achieve heights of 130 to 160 feet. Not shabby. The big pines are probably remnants of a stand from the middle 1800s.

Bob-

Nice photograph of the MTM. Big tree and the trail looks so serene, makes me want to go hiking this fall.
