A Giant White Oak (Quercus alba) that we ran into while out caching today. If you look closely you will see Elli in the photo which puts the enormity of the tree in perspective.

It is located just north of Oakwood Park in Lexington KY in Northern Fayette County Kentucky at:  N38° 05.0320 W084°30.0150 @ 804' elevation. I didn't get a DBF on the tree. The tree is in great shape and I don't think it is particularly very old.  This is a bing map in which you can see the tree clearly standing out. Just click the link to view.
