Redwood Coast - Autumn / Winter & 2015 to 2017

Here's some more Redwood Coast photos for autumn, and later winter. I added several new redwood and trail pages to my redwood content this week, and quite a few other pages the past month or two. The first photo was taken in Redwood National and State Parks just a few days ago.

Another rare fallen titan, mostly intact.

Going to name this one "Lost Man's Fault" and probably assign a page to it, for comparison to another fallen log that won't become this photogenic.

Nice picture- but I wonder if paving a road into that forest will damage those trees? A dirt road might be less damaging. Too bad any roads are built into such forests.

When I was out there I expected to see more signs of vehicle impact when the trees were that close to the road. Of course, I suspect my eyes were elsewhere most of the time.

That's a common expectation since a certain amount of tree problems occur more quickly like street trees lifting sidewalks 24 inches away. Some changes in forest could appear soon, like clear-cut logging in Redwood National Park followed by sediments in Redwood Creek.

Another hundred years may be more telling. Avenue of the Giants and some areas of foot traffic are very young. Some damage may take generations to observe.

The fact that your models are able to stay so spotless given the circumstances gives your photos a magical almost surreal quality.
