Bob,

I've visited a few sites with mature cypress (hope to report on some soon), and while I've seen some impressive diameters, I haven't seen any heights to challenge those at Congaree. It's counter intuitive, but cypress grows faster in wet years than dry (Stahle can explain why better than I can); I suspect the less moist Midwest won't be able to match the heights of the wetter southeast.

Where exactly are those sweetleafs located? they could easily be Arkansas Champions if the height is correct.
