Pulsation of Northern lights in Fairbanks (5 April 2010)
"I love science and it pains me to think that so many are terrified of the subject or feel that choosing science means you cannot also choose compassion, or the arts, or be awe by nature. Science is not meant to cure us of mystery, but to reinvent and revigorate it." by Robert M. Sapolsky

Ed-
I suppose you're aware that this last year has been a low ebb in the solar phenomena that results in the aurora boriealis...a cyclic low even for Anchorage...our northern lights predictor in the daily newspaper used words like low, quiet, etc., unless one was in Fairbanks or points further north...

Ed, Don,
It looks like Fairbanks is trying to make up for the low ebb as seen elsewhere. What a display!

Latitudinally Yellowknife is midway between Anchorage and Fairbanks. This fall has promise!
