The Theodore Oak

Post by Larry Tucei » Tue Jun 29, 2010 10:35 am

Ents, While traveling through Theodore Ala., this weekend I noticed a large Live Oak along Hwy., 90 West. I knew it was over 20' CBH so I stopped to measure it. A lovely tree growing just off the right of way on the edge of the Theodore Plaza parking lot. The Live Oak measured, CBH-25', Spread-126' x 96.5' and Height-63'. The Theodore Oak makes the listing as #54, which now is at 152 Live Oaks! A beautiful Oak and very healthy. One added surprise it had a colony of Honeybees in the trunk, way cool! This makes the 3rd Live Oak on the listing that has Honeybees inside the tree. Two photos of the Theodore Oak.

James, I love Panama City! Go to St. Andrews State Park if you can. The jetty there is awesome to snorkle and dive. Watch out for the current, the shallow water on the inside of the Jetty is great for kids and adults, the rocks are over 1000' long and loaded with fish! Larry

Larry,

I went to St. Andrews. It's awesome. I did the short hike around Gator Lake and " discovered " Sand Pine there. Joy and I also took a boat ride out to Shell Island. Beautiful!
