This slide series tells about the fanciful life of “WoodCreats” (Wooden Creatures) (in reality pine megafossils or remnants) in some lakes of Northern Finland. Starring are the funny or strange looking tree trunks, or pieces therefrom. The WoodCreats, amazingly, may live (remain undecayed) in mud-based, cold-watered and oxygen-poor lakes for thousands of years.
But before continuing the fantasy, a background story is necessary for placing the contents of the slides into the right context...

"I love science and it pains me to think that so many are terrified of the subject or feel that choosing science means you cannot also choose compassion, or the arts, or be awe by nature. Science is not meant to cure us of mystery, but to reinvent and revigorate it." by Robert M. Sapolsky
