Centurion re-measured

Post by KoutaR » Tue Dec 30, 2014 6:34 am

The tallest angiosperm of the world, Eucalyptus regnans tree called Centurion, has been re-measured. The new measurement is 99.82 m. Thus, it is now taller than the tallest Douglas-fir.

Brett Mifsud confirmed me the figure:
the updated 99.8 is the correct number (in fact 99.82 was the exact figure!)
Meaning it has grown about 22cm in a few years since it was first measured
I think the measurement has been made by the research team of Sillett & Co. but I am not sure.

Wow! So close to 100 m! That's a well done site.

One little thing, though, Icarus' Dream is listed as F. regnans in the rankings.

Yes, Icarus Dream is the second tallest E. regnans, with a dead top. What do you mean?
