In early October I had a chance to measure a few Atlas Cedars (Cedrus atlantica) in their native range in Morocco.
The largest tree measured was 20.6' x 101.4'.
The trees were located in Ifrane National Park near the Muncipality of Azrou in the Province of D'Ifrane. This area would be considered the Middle Atlas Mountains with an elevation of 5400 feet where the trees were measured.
The under story was sparse with the following species noted: Holly Oak (Quercus ilex), Maritime Pine (Pinus pinaster), Hawthorn ((Crataegus spp. .
