Student at Penn State looking for large Ailanthus

Post by pabigtrees » Fri Nov 05, 2010 6:38 am

I was recently contacted by a student from PSU about finding large Ailanthus for a study he is conducting. He is studying a biological control for this species. He wants to gather as much info on the species as he can. He has cored all three trees on the Pennsylvania Big tree list with permission, and a tree in Va. He has cored trees at the Woodlands Cemetery, the old Hamilton estate, where it is believed the tree was first introduced in the 1700's.
Please contact him if you know of large Ailanthus that could be sampled. mtk178@psu.edu His name is Matt Kasson
