Tree climbers needed for Tecumseh Pine modeling

Post by Will Blozan » Sat Oct 01, 2011 11:19 am

Bob Leverett and I have been discussing the first 3-D tree modeling in Mohawk State Forest during the upcoming ENTS event October 15th (weather permitting of course). The first mapping of this tree will set a baseline for annual growth monitoring in years to come. We have chosen the charismatic Tecumseh Pine as the first subject.

I am looking for climbers to assist in data collection on the 12th and the 15th. Ideally, two other folks would be present in the tree, with me being the data recorder and sampling director. If more came they could participate in photo-documentation or perhaps other climbs in the vicinity. All must be skilled in soft climbing techniques, tall tree ascension, and covered by liability insurance.

Respond here and email me off-list for further discussion. I can send the mapping protocols via email for review.
