#21)  HCC FOREST SUMMIT/ENTS RENDEZVOUS

Postby Gary Beluzo » Thu Sep 23, 2010 9:32 am

Greetings ENTS!

The 2010 FOREST SUMMIT (our 6th in the series) will be held October 14th and 15th, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.  The Summit Series focuses on important issues related to trees and forests.  This year the Summit will focus on FOREST HEALTH. All of the information regarding speakers, topics, times, and directions may be found at http://www.hcc.edu/forest.  The website will be updated several times a week as the Summit event approaches.  I will also check this BB for questions about the event.

The ENTS RENDEZVOUS will take place the day after the FOREST SUMMIT (Saturday, October 16) at MTSF in Charlemont, MA.  Full details will also be available on my FOREST SUMMIT website (www.hcc.edu/forest). You may also send your questions regarding the rendezvous to Bob Leverett.

Ed,

Thanks. This 3-day event is shaping up to be sooooper dooooper! It may turn out to be our best, or at least equal to the best we've done.

Bob:

At this point all hope of my being able to make it is gone.  We are limited to day trips--anything more would be potentially very awkward for us now. Will's account of the sequoia climb would normally get me to go anywhere, and other presentations seem compelling also.  Maybe next time.

Gaines,

I understand. Of course, we'd love to have you join us, but understand when you can't. There is always next year. As long as there is interest, Gary and I will try to keep these events going.

Bob/ENTS: Any recommendation on reasonable accommodations while attending the conference would be appreciated. If it has  somewhat dried out camping would be nice.

Turner,

If you are up for camping, the group campsite at MTSF would be ideal. I'll check on its availability this Saturday and get back to you. We'll find something. I'd offer our place, but we're stuff to the gills.  There is also the Charlemont Inn. I can check with Charlotte to see if they'd give special ENTS rates. I'll get back.
