Chestnut Trees

Hello All -
This is Scott H. I've been a member of the Native Tree Society for several years but this is my first post (I think). A few years ago, I read an article about a group of researchers locating large chestnut trees(40 feet high) on Pine Mountian in GA, and ten years ago I read about a large specimen being found up on Lake Erie in Sheldon Marsh. Obviously, a large American chestnut is a unicorn tree, but does anyone have any tips about where one might be still be standing on some lonesome ridge in Appalachia?
Thanks, friends -
Scott
