Hello Friends,

I am delighted to join your group and look forward to some fine networking. I am the Director of the Arc of Appalachia, a land acquisition/nature preserve organization in southern Ohio. Ohio has a lot of citizen support and a pretty amazing Clean Ohio grant program for the establishment of green space and natural areas. With these two powerhouses, we've managed to buy over 80 properties in the last 20 years in our attempt to save the native biodiversity of the Great Eastern Forest in our region. We are also a forest education resource. Check us out, friends! www.arcofappalachia.org

Sincerely, Nancy Stranahan

Nancy,

Welcome aboard. Our members are well aware of Arc of Appalachia, the phenomenal work you do, and the growing partnership between the Arc and NTS. How was your Africa trip? Many of us are envious, but we're glad to have you back in the USA.

April is on the horizon. We're looking forward to the Wild Flower Pilgrimage and the dedication of Fort Hill as an member of Joan's Old Growth Forest Network.

As for us poor snow-bound New Englanders, thoughts of spring wild flowers does lift our spirits, but the snow does have its charms especially when viewed through the windows of our home. Cases in point.

And what might I see from my window in mid-spring? Take a look. Not unusual.

I remember first stumbling on your website in the early 00's. It's been neat to see how much it has grown.
