New Member. Northeast Pennsylvania.

I'd like to introducce myself to the forum as a big tree enthusiast from Northeast Pennsylvania. My name is T.C. Mazar. I am an ISA certified arborist and contract tree climber. My associate, Alan Krieg (ISA BCMA, ISA Climber Specialist, ISA Tree risk Assessor, 2013 Graduate ASCA consulting academy, PennDel ISA board of directors) and I are looking to climb and document old growth (or otherwise very large) trees throughout Pennsylvania. We recently studied with Will Blozan and Bob Leverett this weekend in Georgia where they trained us in ground based measuring methods and aerial tape drops/volume measuring basics. I am extremely interested in aerial crown mapping in order to, in Will's words, leave a "legacy" of these extremely large and interesting trees. Thank you for having me. I am very excited about being a part of such a wonderful organization.

You guys will be a perfect complement to the Pennsylvania "A-Team" of measurers. Dale, George, Scott, Carl, and Ed take note!

It was great to have you in the classes and witness your enthusiasm! WELCOME!

Thanks Will!

I tried posting to the old-growth hemlock thread for Tionesta. I still haven't seen it appear on the feed. Still getting used to the site.

Ditto to what Will said. WELCOME! We look forward to a long partnership with you and Alan. I'll soon post a report on the rendezvous. But at this point just let me say that tree climbers are the coolest people on the planet. Monica and I so enjoyed meeting you all.

at first, the site is overwhelming- I've found a way to keep up with it

I suggest, go to http://www.ents-bbs.org/index.php, then click on "mark forums read" so the entire site is "read"

then each time you want to see "new" postings- click on http://www.ents-bbs.org/search.php?sear ... nreadposts

after reading whichever new postings interest you, then go back to the full site and click on "mark forums read" again

otherwise, it seems impossible to keep track of such a large site- others may have figured out different methos-- I think Ed. Frank, who maintains the web site should post a "sticky" at the top of the site giving this method if he hasn't already...

Since I check several times a day I simply click "view new posts". If it has been a day or so I will click "view active topics".
