Tyler request the following LiDAR for these coordinates.

Lat 33 49' 42''N  Lon 080 48' 48''W  tile #188

Lat 33 49' 13''N  Lon 080 48' 50''W  tile #186

Attached are the height ramped images. 130 is red and 150 is white.  There are multiple 160'+ hits in tile #188 with the tallest being 167.3'. Tile #186 tallest hit was 155' with a few other hits over 150ft. See attached. The LiDAR hits could easily be 1-2 feet taller due to the data being taken 7 years ago and also the lowest ground level may have been obscured by vegetation.
Did I find the tallest ? How accurate were my LIDAR estimates.

tallest here is 155' with a few other hits over 150' or approaching that

Michael,

The first image with the 167.3' tree is likely the pine that was tape dropped in Feb 2009. Measurement was 168.7'. I think there was another pine NE that was similar in height. The fourth image with the 161' tree looks to be a pine that died in 2012 but was measured to around 160'. Would have to see the coordinates to be sure. The lidar estimates are very accurate in CONG.

What is the rest of the color codes in the images? Is orange 120' yellow 110'? The blue patches appear to be canopy gaps.

Thanks for doing all of this.

For the Congaree Height Ramping

blue = 0 feet
green = 50 feet
yellow = 100 feet
red = 130 feet
white = 150 feet

I often change the scale a little as to make the very tallest trees stand out with a white top.

I'll make a KMZ file for this so you can overlay on Google Earth to get GPS for every top. It takes a little time to make the KMZ though.
