Two Nice Sycamores

Post by Matt Markworth » Sat May 16, 2015 10:44 pm

All,

These two sycamores are located in the front lawn of an elementary school in Lebanon, OH. A small creek, the North Fork of Turtle Creek, flows nearby. A plaque reads, "Upon this site in March 1796, Ichabod Corwin erected the first cabin on land which is now Lebanon, Ohio."

The 144' x 125' spread on one of the trees was the most impressive dimension.

This was the first time I went paperless while measuring trees. I logged into the Trees database with my Iphone, entered the info, took screenshots of each tree (as a backup just in case), and successfully saved the data in the database. Then when I got home, I downloaded the excel spreadsheet for the site for my records. This method should work as long as there is cell phone coverage.
