Re: Adirondack Adventures - 3

It is hard to really appreciate how big some of the trees that are viewed on here. But that Lyndacker Pine looks like a monster. The shot looking up at the multiple trunk formations is really striking. What an awesome tree.

Re: Deerfield River-Hurricane Aftermath

I was amazed how well the Pines faired in my region. I only saw a few pines that were toppled. Mostly hardwoods and loads of street trees. Ash, Norways(hate Norway Maple) and Pears seemed to take the brunt of the winds. Bob, when you say MSF is closed do you mean you cannot visit at all. Or closed f...

Re: Popular New Apps for Hikers

I uploaded an app that will identify peaks in the Dacks. When I did some hiking there this summer I came across a guy who had it on his Iphone. It was really cool. I downloaded it when I got home. All the more excuse to go back to the Dacks!

Re: 'Ultra' runner conquers Parkway in just 17 days

Good post Ed. I find it to be somewhat inspirational. The guy is obviously not a professional athlete and to do it at his age is really impressive. I have read several posts on this site about how many Americans are fat and lazy...... All the power to him.

Re: 10 Things Your Tree Service Won't Tell You

Ed, I was half kidding when I wrote that. We have a retail establishment too......there is a point that you can only offer your expertise and if they want to listen up it is up to them Mario I totally went on a different tangent from the article. Believe me I love arborist. With my experience experi...

Re: 10 Things Your Tree Service Won't Tell You

I pretty much agree with Mario. But...I have to give you a landscape designers perspective. "When I was on the Oregon landscape contractors board, several times I pointed out that the knowledge set of arborists, landscapers and landscape designers (& L. archichitects), should be greatly similar. One...
