Re: Anyone has any nominations for potential 300+ year old deciduous trees located through PA, NJ, DE, and New York?

Hi- In Pa., there are several at Cook Forest, Hemlock for sure. Some over 400 years. I have not seen them but several members on here have. In NJ there should be some Atlantic White Cedar of that age. I would imagine some White Oak at most of your locations are in the 200- 300 year range, some Sycam...

Re: Rucker Comparisons

Brian-

That's quite a listing you have compiled. Great work.
I'm sure that took some time.

I haven't been on the BBS site much lately.
I will start posting more on here.

Re: New mission?

Hi Bob- I have always enjoyed our site and glad to part of such a great organization. There have been a few glitches on the BBS in the past and I think that has been the reason for nonparticipation. I switched my postings about trees to our Facebook Page these last couple of years. I'm excited to he...

BBS Site Back Up!

:D :D All-

Great to have the site up again. Thanks to Ed I'm guessing. I've been busy this Fall measuring some nice superlative trees.
Two trips to Bienville NFs and one to Noxubee NWR. I'll get my work together and put it up now that we're up and running.

Re: A 50m NY Pine

Elijah-

50m Wow congratulations! It is likely that many Pines in the South equaled are exceeded that height but that was long ago.
Ms. Loblollies are starting to reach heights of 150' and it is likely that in my lifetime they could attain heights of 160+.

Re: Rhododendron Pines

Bob-

I remember your post over the years on this Grove. So how many years did it take them to get from 120's to almost 140'?
Love the new name -
I'm guessing 2' a year so around 10.

Dale-

Congratulations on breaking 1000 cubes. Those are some awesome Hemlocks! The scale is off the charts and it makes me want to compare some of the southern Loblolly Pine. I believe we have a few that might make the 1000 cube club.

Bob-

Nice photograph of the MTM. Big tree and the trail looks so serene, makes me want to go hiking this fall.
