Re: New website link!

Don,

I like your site. I was surprised to find out that Alaska has so few species of trees, that is if all are included on the list. I also like the photo album idea. I found the site very easy to get around.

Re: Very huge tree in Thailand

Shorea,
Welcome to the group. It is good to hear from that area of the world. We don't have to many reports from outside the US and Europe.

That is one HUGE tree! I'm having trouble just wrapping my brain around a tree that big.

Re: Could we have a lower south meet and greet weekend?

Also I thought we need to set a date else we will never have the meet and greet. How is Sept. 16-19? or maybe Sept. 30 - Oct. 3?

Re: Could we have a lower south meet and greet weekend?

Ed aand Gary, I don't know much about Little River Canyon National Preserve either. I was looking at location. I thought it was centerly located. As to the montane longleaf I'm not sure of but I did find another place this time in the Northwest part of Alabama. It is called Sipsey Wilderness and acc...

Gary,
you are right. It is the NE part of Alabama. I was at work and it was at the busiest time when I sent the message.

Re: Could we have a lower south meet and greet weekend?

I was thinking about Little River Canyon National Preserve in northwest Alabama. I'll continue to try and locate some more areas.

Re: East Granbym CT Black Oak

It lives on top of a ridge that is currently part of a cow pasture and along the edge of tillable ground. I think that it is going to be dead in a few years. To bad it can't be cored to find out how old it is since it is hollow for about 16 feet. Nice home for some critter though, I bet.

Re: Redwood or Oak & Why?

I would want to be an Oak but then again I'm bais as oaks are my favorite trees.
