Re: Soundscape with Installation at Walzgesprächen Eggenburg
Bob, Glad to read you thought your comment - it is great when we find havens where natural sounds still rule and we tried to emulate that relaxing aural and visual sensation that nature can produce in this project. I hope that one day the US will adopt quiet area programs akin to our dark sky progra...

Re: Soundscape with Installation at Walzgesprächen Eggenburg
Thanks Joe - for me as well this project when we finished really had a kind of relaxing almost mesmerizing effect - though I cant explain why either. The original video that was sent to me was much longer, and I am not sure why the person who shot it edited down so much. I think this video diminishe...

Soundscape with Installation at Walzgesprächen Eggenburg 201
I recently have been collaborating with a few art artists based in Vienna - this is a very short video of our current installation project, which uses my soundscape recording of hemlock trees which I captured in northwestern Connecticut a while back. Please let me know what you think - apologies for...

"Wind Garden" installation at USCD
If anyone in the group is or will be in the San Diego area, check out composer John Luther Adams new public art sound installation called “The Wind Garden” at UCSD. I do not have a link to a podcast or sound file yet, but I will add to this post when I come across it. The project includes 32 trees n...

Re: Earth is a Solar Powered Jukebox
Bob,
I have been working on my doctoral degree, so since last October or so I have been heavily involved in that project. I am incorporating soundscapes and deep listening as an important part of my thesis, so as my work/research continues I will be more in touch.

Earth is a Solar Powered Jukebox
I came across this today on Paul Voristek's site http://www.creativefieldrecording.com/ The title of Gordon Hempton's new book caught my attention - and just wanted to pass this information on to anyone who may be interested in soundscape recording. Earth is a Solar Powered Jukebox by Gordon Hempton...

Recovering Our Elemental Imagination - from NewMusicBox
Thought this may be of interest, and the unanswered question: "Could music be such a mediator to heal and reawaken our senses to the greater culture of life?" The H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon, founded in 1948, is the most studied forest in the world. Sponsored ...

Trees and Musical Shapes
Recently I have been experimenting with the collage of tree objects to generate interesting and natural shape parameters for the creation of musical structures. Here are some photo examples of pages from a musical score that I am currently working on: CameraAwesomePhoto-1.jpg page 6.jpg page 6.jpg
