Re: New, real, users cannot join???

Dustin, Ah, I see now. Thank you very much for letting me know! Yeah, I know of a Canadian member of Monumentaltrees.com that wanted to post his findings, so I will be sure to contact him and let him know to re-register. He had an issue with receiving a verification code to activate his ENTS account...

Yeah, very impressive, George! I have never seen a bigger forest grown Quercus rubra than the one you mentioned!

Do you know where the tree was located at?

Re: Global Forecast Canopy Height - 2019 Interactive Map

Bob, Erik, Bee, Brian I agree, this canopy capping is an issue. Some kind of regional average must be in use to cap allowable canopy height, even if GEDI and/or Landsat returns suggest a higher local canopy. It's tough to find an email to provide feedback, the best I can come up with is LPDAAC@usgs...

Re: Rucker Index Database

Bob, That is fascinating! I wish you and Monica a nice time finding huge cottonwoods! Not many here in SE PA, but occasionally a huge one pops up, like this 30 feet inch CBH Eastern Cottonwood located in the mountains of Dauphin County PA: https://www.pabigtrees.com/tree-listings/TR20101011183359390...

Pine Grove Furnace State Park, Michaux State Forest, and Gettysburg National Park

Hi Everyone, Earlier this week I was able to make a family trip out west in Pennsylvania, to primarily visit Gettysburg National Military Park, and Pine Grove Furnace State Park, which is surrounded by the 85,500+ acre Michaux State Forest. This area is not really Dutch Country at all, more like Pen...

Re: Eastern States Rucker Comparisons

Hi Brian, Well, this data I am about to give you won't contribute much to the Pennsylvania Rucker, but there are 2 new records that could be updated, for data's sake. The Pignut Hickory Height champ was 148.8 Feet in height, you currently have it at 146.6 or something close to that. Also, Just recen...

Re: Global Forecast Canopy Height - 2019 Interactive Map

Yep! It is a nice tool! Though it would be nice for them to add 40 meters and 50 meters, as that could add a lot more taller forests.

Re: Harriman State Park, New York

I purposely stayed away from the city (pandemic or no pandemic) because of the crowds. Some people really enjoy the energy of lots of people around, but I’m not one of them. Elijah I totally agree with you on that! I really dont get a kick out of being with a crowd of 10000 people. I like quieter a...
