hey, in the case of a circular/non elliptical tree your above formula is exactly the same as the one on my sheet isn't it? what i have been trying to do is take measurements at points where there is a slope break in the silhouette of the tree rather than at the traditional 60, 120, 180 feet heights. it seems like it would provide a truer estimate. and i usually wrap a tape measure around the tree 3 times, one level at c...
